Kedves Támogatóink:
Rengeteg information áramlik a jelenlegi háborús helyzettel kapcsolatban a világban. Szeretnénk összefoglalni mindazt, amiről a Rákóczi Alapítvány Igazgatóság rendkívüli ülésén szó volt.
Kárpátalján még fegyveres harcok nincsennek. Sokan az országból pont ezért menekülnek oda. A magyar menekűlteket, és más nemzetiséghez tartozó (ukrán, ruszin) embereket, családokat is támogatnunk kell ezekben az időkben. Özönlenek a menekűltek Kárpátaljára és onnan tovább Magyarországra (120,000 menekűlt érkezett már Magyarországra).
A Rákóczi Alapítvány ülésén hozott rendkívüli támogatásokról az alábbi döntések születtek. 2021-ben összesen 26 kárpátaljai diák folyamodott ösztöndíjért, őket külön megkeresve szeretnénk ismét támogatni. Ezen kívűl több olyan szervezetet támogatunk amelyek régóta dolgoznak ebben a régióban és jól ismerik a helyi körűlményeket. A hozzánk beérkezett adományokat ezeknek a jótékonycélú szervezetekhez juttattjuk el:
- A Szent Ferenc Missziós Alapítványnak akik ingyen konyhát üzemeltetnek már évek óta Nagyszöllősen és több faluban.
- A Mária Oltalma Jótékonyságú Alapítványnak (Karácsfalva)
- A Magyar Református Szeretetszolgálatnak
- A Máltai szeretetszolgálatnak, akikkel karöltve dolgoznak a rászorúltakért ezekkel a megnevezett szervezetekkel.
Visszajelzéseket és köszönő leveleket, illetve beszámolókat kűldünk nagylelkű adakozóinknak. Sok szervezet indított már gyűjtést, de ahogy támogatóink tudják, hogy az általunk küldött támogatások 100%-át továbbadjuk a támogatott szervezetnek/célnak.
A Rákóczi Alapítvány Igazgatóságának nevében köszönjük, eddigi támogatásukat és tisztelettel kérjük, hogy támogassák a most nehéz helyzetben lévő kárpátaljai honfitársainkat, illetve az Ukrán háború menekűltjeit.

Dear Donors and Supporters!
By now, we have all witnessed the tragic images and news reports regarding the current military situation in the Ukraine. We would like to sum up what was discussed in the extraordinary meeting of the Board of the Rákóczi Foundation earlier this week and our plan for supporting those in need during this conflict.
At this time, there is no military activity in Transcarpathia (Kárpátalja). For that very reason, many Ukrainians, fleeing the war, are headed there. In these precarious times, we feel we must provide as much support as we can for the Transcarpathian Hungarian families and refugees as well as others (Ukrainians, Rusyns) made homeless by this war. Refugees are flooding into Transcarpathia – and from there to Hungary. In the last week alone, Hungary has taken in more than 120,000 refugees who have fled the war-ravaged parts of Ukraine.
The following resolutions regarding special funding/support were adopted at the meeting of the Board of the Rákóczi Foundation just this week.
All 26 students from Transcarpathia who applied for scholarships in 2021 will be contacted and provided further support in this academic year.
As well, we will support several organizations who have been active in the region for a long time and who have volunteers and infrastructure on the ground to distribute the much-needed support. The Board has already authorized and sent a significant donation ($10,000.) this week and any donations sent to us for this campaign will be similarly forwarded to the following charitable organizations:
- The Szent Ferenc Missziós Alapítvány (Saint Francis Mission Foundation) who have, for many years, operated a soup kitchen in Nagyszöllős [Vynohradiv] and surrounding villages.
- The Mária Oltalma Jótékonyságú Alapítvány (M. Pokrova Organization) in Karácsfalva [Karachyn].
- The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid – who supply medical teams through their Transcarpathian coordination office.
- The Knights of Malta Charity, who work closely with the above organizations with those in need.
As always, we will be sending feedback, reports and thank you letters to our generous donors. Many organizations have begun collecting money however, as our donors know well, one hundred percent of the donations received by the Foundation are forwarded to the named organization or goal.
On behalf of our Board of Directors and many enthusiastic volunteers, we wish to thank you for your support of our work and humbly ask for your continued generosity in aiding the Hungarian community of Transcarpathia (Kárpátalja) as well special assistance for all the refugees of the war in Ukraine during this terrible time of war.
